Here's a "cool way" to peel a potato!

Dawn Wells, aka Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island, demonstrates a unique way to peel an Idaho potato...without the use of a potato peeler!

Comments:
I saw that video last week, Millie. It looks like it works very well, but I have yet to try it.

She's just blanching them! That is the method I use to peel tomatoes when I'm making sauces or soup. It look like fun to try it with potatoes, however I think I could get them all peeled in the traditional way much more quickly.

I have always cooked the potatoes for potato salad with the skins on. Then you can easily peel them with your hands . I have not scored them first, though, so will try that next time.

I, too, saw that video last week.

Amazing! I'll have to give it a try!

Just one thing that has nothing to do.

Millie, the link to Blogging in Paris is wrong, actually very wrong. Please do not click it! And replace it with http://blogginginparis.com

I wrote you about this this morning but making sure you got it

When you peel a potato and discard the skin, you lose 90% of the goodness. Scrub, boil and eat the skin. That is where the vitamins are.
