I Can't Open It VIII
This time Millie can't get a stuck spoon out of the dishwasher silverware basket, can't open a bottle of mouthwash, can't get the hand lotion out of a bottle, and can't open an Advil bottle. She needed pain relief but the Advil bottle thwarted her!
This time Steve explains the steps to take to open each bottle and Millie tries again to open each one. Watch the video to see how she does!

Alternate version: Flash.
Scope, Dove, Advil.
Comments:
YEAH!!! Another open stuff vlog. I really love these so much! Millie, you should be a beta tester for companies on packaging. I agree that too many of these products are too hard to open. And the kids 4 and under can open them easier than the adults!!! Please don't stop these episodes. I love them to death!!!
Millie, I just love this series! It was good seeing you!
By the way, I went to Poilâne, yesterday, the Paris baker you told me about and guess what! I chose chose the day when it was closed. But I did take a few pics that I'll post tomorrow.

Millie, Gabe is on the right track. Packaging companies should be talking to you about how to design easy-to-open packages. Thanks for another episode!
Millie, you're a treasure and always brighten my day. All these products that you do have affected me a few times as well. The mouth wash is a tricky one.
I still say you need to go on TV and do these. And if this series ends, I'm already looking forward to a new one.

Millie, here's a suggestion for the lotion container: With the top still on, turn the container upside down and shake it until you know the lotion has traveled south. Then, if you can, unscrew the lid and pour the lotion out, rather than trying to squeeze it out of the bottle. Be careful, though, that you don't end up with it all over the place!
Hi Millie,
As you know, I was having trouble at first with this latest video--I couldn't open it!!! But then I tried another format and it worked! Congratulations to you and Steve on another great episode. Things were so much easier before tamperproof packaging...But then again, if everything were so easy to open, there would be no wonderful "I can't open it" videos--there's a reason for everything! Thanks again for sharing with us all. What happens when you go to Florida? Is Steve going so he can continue opening and filming?

Oh, the laugh track is great!
You know, I find as I watch you trying to open various products, I am holding my tongue a certain way trying to help you get those darn bottles open!
As to the squeeze bottle, sometimes you have to "double" open those tops; the first position up is not fully open, takes a second push down on the flip part of the lid to completely free up the spout. Crazy, I know.

I sent an email to Dove with a link to this video and they replied:
Hi,
Thanks for writing!
We do apologize for your frustration with our packaging. The packaging
staff designs the packages and containers to meet needs of both the
product and the consumer for safety and convenience.
Packages are regularly reevaluated, based on consumer commentary and
preferences as well as business considerations. We will certainly report your comments to the packaging staff. It is possible that the container for that product will change at some time in the future.
We will certainly send you a complimentary coupon to try another variety of Dove.
Thank you for your interest!

Hi to all my blogging friends who are concerned that I might not do anymore "I Can't Open It videos," Not to worry, I'm sure there still are products out there that I will not be able to open.
That'll be the day when I can open everything!! ;-)

Hi Susan
Good question - Steve has a few videos up his sleeve that he hasn't put up yet so there will be a few more coming.
He goes down to Florida to help "mother" settle in so I won't be surprised if he does a couple while there.
After that, who knows what will happen. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hi Helen
You asked the question, "where did I get this video from?" My son and I have been making video's
for some time now.
Take a look at my sidebar on the right and look up "favorite video's.
Enjoy!

Sometimes products also have foil protection under the cap. So you have to unscrew the cap, take off the foil, put the cap back on, and open it the other way. I run into this with parmesan cheese all the time! You'd think I would learn...
I was glad to see that Steve not only opens stuff for you, but is firm about you trying just a little bit harder to open things yourself. What a good son!
