PROBLEM SOLVING
This is probably going to be one of my last posts from sunny Florida and I've been trying to think of something funny to write about. --- I finally thought about something that happened many years ago when my husband and I first started going down to Florida for the winter.

At that time, we were staying in a one bedroom condo on the second floor. My husband was a very light sleeper and was being disturbed by some birds that would start their "song" very early in the morning. It was driving him nuts!! Well you know how it goes, a woman has a problem and she talks about it, a man has a problem and he finds a solution.

At that time there was no such thing as a Walmart or Target but there was a store where you could buy just about anything. you name it, they had it.

Off we went "looking for something." Now that I look back, I think he know what he was looking for. "A VERY LARGE SQIURT GUN." As I remember it now, we bumped into friends that we knew and when they saw what Aaron was buying, they said, "What the heck are you going to do with that?"

When we got back to our condo he filled the gun with water and out he went to spray and frighten the birds. They were never heard from again!!

But, that's not the end of the story.

The downstairs neighbor had just had her sofa cleaned and didn't like the odor from the chemicals that had been used, SO she put the sofa on her patio to air out. She got more then she bargained for, her sofa not only got aired out, it got sprayed too! Fortunately it didn't harm the sofa.

I guess you could say my husband's idea was "all wet."

Comments:
Millie, I can just imagine seeing that happen. Was the woman mad about her couch? That sounds like something you'd see in the movies!

What a great idea! That's something that would never had occured to me.
I used to have birds coming to my balcony and drop their poop, you know in big cities, those pigeons are incredibly cheeky. I tied a plastic bag to my balcony (the noisy kind), it deterred them from coming around for quite a while. Whenever they starte coming back, there I go with my plastic bag again.
Next blog in Boston?

I like that solution to the bird problem. Do you miss Florida when you come back to the Boston area?

At first the woman was upset but when she saw that no damage had been done to her couch she was nice about it.

It was a luck thing that the fabric on the couch was not silk or satin which would have stained the couch.

You had a good idea too - I never would have thought of that!!

I just might do one more post before leaving for Boston. I need to rest after I pack for a while so I take a blogging break.

By the way, my freezer is in very good shape. There is no more ice cream, pastry or pizza in there now. Still have a load of bagel to consume - not to worry -

You asked a very good question. Will I miss Florida when I get back to Boston? I've had an enjoyable winter but if I stayed longer it wouldn't be much fun because most of my friends are snowbirds and they are leaving soon too.

It's always good to get back home!!

As always, I love your humor, Millie. Gosh, your Florida visit has come to an end already? Where did the months go?
Wishing you a safe trip back home and I look forward to you resuming your blog from the Boston area.

I love this and my husband would have seconded this: "Well you know how it goes, a woman has a problem and she talks about it, a man has a problem and he finds a solution." He could never just listen to a problem -- he had to solve it. ;-)

Thanks heavens the spray bottle didn't have any unpleasant ingredients added to it.

Have a good trip back to Boston.

My grandmother always tied aluminum pie pans in the trees to deter birds ...
