Day 2 in Flordia: Amazing Breakfast and Some Shopping
We started day two with a nice walk outside. Well, Carol and I did. We met a nice neighbor who was walking too and he told us all the different routes he takes on his walks. If I was living down here, he'd be my personal trainer. What an inspiration.

After our walk, we collected my mom and went off to breakfast at 3 G's Gourmet Deli. We had a great hot pastrami sandwich from there yesterday, and went back for breakfast today.

We missed the breakfast menu by an hour, but the lunch menu included some breakfast items.

My mom and Carol shared the Spinach, Bacon and Feta Omelet:

I had the most amazing Fruit and Nut French Toast. It's a homemade with fruit nut bread with raisins, dates, walnuts, dried apples, dried cranberries, and cinnamon dipped in egg batter and grilled golden.

Amazing!

On a Sunday they go through 20 loaves!

Here's Carol leaning up against our Chevy Impala Hertz Rental Car. My mom thinks this is the best photo.

The parking lot for 3 G's is insane with lots of people stopping in the middle of the road to unload old people and their walkers. This parking lot is not for impatient people.

After breakfast we took a road trip to Festival Flea Market on Sample Road in Pompano Beach, FL. This is the big one. It's so big that you need to make sure you remember the door you came in so you can find your car in the parking lot when leaving.

There are lots of great bargains here on clothing, eyeglasses and jewelry.

Here's what one of the tables full of wathces looks like:

There was a very interesting wig store there and I was intrigued by the sample heads with wigs on display:

In this picture you can see how mammoth the flea market is. There are rows and rows that look like this. My mom is trying on a hat she'd never buy. Carol looks on.

Our next stop was the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise, Florida. The mall is said to be the country's third largest. We shopped in the Colonade area of outlet stores. It was lots of fun and Carol got a few things for great deals.

After shopping we stopped in at the Grand Lux Cafe. It's the parent company of the Cheescake Factory.

Inside it looks like a casino:

On a technical note, I used my iPhone version 1.0 Google Maps to see where we were and follow the route home.

Google Maps on the iPhone is a great program.

Carol and I leave tomorrow, so from here on in, my mom will be filing updates from sunny Florida.

Comments:
A very busy second day. Thank you for the tour of the interesting places you visited.

That food looks divine!! Now I am hungry for French toast!

Thanks for all the photos.
And the tour of the shopping malls.
Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves.

Bear((( )))

After reading so much from Millie about her Florida activities, now I have images to go with them.

That's some tasty looking food. Enjoyed all the great photos.
Am finally catching up with you in Florida. Gee, it seems like you just left there to return to Mass. How does the time go so fast?

On your departure from Mass. I saw a Jet Blue logo. I took my first flight with them a year ago from the east coast to the west coast. With flying what it is these days, that was one of my more pleasant flights.

OMG! I remember that Flea Market. It is the location of the worst experience of my life. I lost a child there! Sean, who may have been just getting ready to go to kindergarden let go of my hand in a crowd. When I finished looking at what ever it was I was looking at, I turned to get his hand again only to discover that my little tot had gone! I got him back two horror filled hours later. I never went there again. I felt there wasn't anything in there for sale that was worth risking another experience like that.

I'm glad you had a good time though. The food looks great!

All the photos are very good, but I agree with your mom that one photo which has your mom and hired car is the best one!

Millie, you must have been happy to find your bed after such a busy second day!
Thanks Steve for the photos! I now have an iPhone and love it too. If only the maps would talk, it would be even better. I can't possibly drive and look at the iPhone at the same time! ;)
Looking forward to your next post, Millie

Dear Millie, I am so tired reading about Steve's Florida experience. How did you keep up with Carol and Steve? I am so tired just reading about the different places. You all had fun and Millie you get A plus for effort. Thank you Steve. Good Job and I love 3 G's too! I'll be down in January and I can hardly wait for some French toast.

I've flown Jet Blue for years and always find it a pleasure and for people with long legs, there is plenty of leg room!

What a terrible experience you had, Sean lost for two hours, how terrible.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and you would expect they would be very busy (right before Xmas) but the crowds were thin.

It's not what it used to be.

Here's wishing you a very happy winter in Florida. Have a great time!

I’m not simply dealing with any kind of skyscraping but scarpe Hogan
. We are totally in love with the fabulous sporty shoes like Hogan uomo
. The house of Hogan scarpe uomo
is famous for its casual-chic sneakers for him and her. Once you usually expect the perfect shoes in town, you might want to select hogan donna

These photos looks awesome and the meals too. By the way my grandpa who likes to get Generic Viagra has been in that place and he told me it was fabulous.
