off to buy gin and golden raisins tomorrow -- I was waiting to hear how it worked for you :D

Hi,
I love the recepie Millie a great natural way to start the day. Just a few observations I have made. Have you noticed that modern medicine says they need your money to find a cure and yet they have not found a cure in 60 years, 0. And autoimmune diseases like Lupus disease are interesting there are approximately 80 to 100 with another 40 waiting for a name and if you get one you will get another and so on. And medical science cannot explain why we have this autoimmune epidemic. You can trigger one of them just by having an auto accident, taking aspirin or medication or by starting a new exercise routine, even too much stress says latest research. Naturopathic medicine says, "Look for the root, it is in the basics beginning with what is on your fork, what toxins are in your body, what exercise do you do, what stress is in your life, what is your spiritual base". Scientific arrogance has led us down the wrong path we better stop and take a close look at what is happening. This month 150 new chemicals will be added to the 85,000 which are part of the autoimmune problem. They will be added too industry with no oversight control at all. Autoimmune disease is the worst kind of contradiction; for an Lupus sufferer you are attacking your body with your immune system, a world upside down. God bless you in your search.
Sincerely
Paul

My doctor said to drink Tonic Water for leg cramps and you said adding gin and a little bit of lime juice and you have a refreshing summer drink. So just think by adding the raisins you have a leg cramp and arthritis treatment all in one! I might have to try that! Thanks Millie!

Sounds like a great cure! LOL
No matter what, I love seeing you and listening to you Millie!

Millie, you are a treasure!! I will try the raisin remedy again and I'll also add gin to my tonic water - which I also drink for leg cramps. Now I just need your recipe for gin and tonic!!

Glad it's working for you!

Sounds remarkable, Millie. Might give the phrase "Tipsy Elders" a special cache. How long have you been developing this? Thinking about it for myself!

I hope it helps you. Good luck.

Thanks for your input.

Good point Mary - the tonic helps the leg cramps and the gin and raisins helps the arthritis.

When I used to ask my mother for a recipe she would say, " put in just enough." LOL

I put in a little gin, more tonic and a squirt of lime juice. Enjoy!!

I discovered "the treatment" this winter on the internet. I don't remember the exact source.

From the response I've gotten there should be a "lot of happy tipsy seniors out there."

I don't know whether it's the warm weather or "the treatment' that makes me feel better but whatever it is, I'll keep having my morning pick-me-up!"

I love this receipe.Natural way of starting a day. I will get raisins today itself

I never thought gin and raisins can be used for arthritis. I'll definitely email this to my uncle who have been suffering with arthritis for 5 years now. Thank you for a homemade remedy.

I like the golden raisins, too. I'll sure keep this recipe in mind if arthritis comes my way. Maybe it would be a preventative measure. Hmmm!

Here's a really good recipe for cookies with gin soaked raisins: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Maida-Heatters-Chocolate-Cookies-with-Gin-Soaked-Raisins-104420

Enjoy!

Got the Gin, forgot the raisins, so drank the gin with tonic.

Now off to buy the raisins, more gin and will skip the tonic - so if I forget the raisins again I won't drink the tonic.

Cheers and Hic Hic Hic but happy.

Hello Millie. I just came across your Blog and I like it. I have added it to my Blog List. Hope you do not mind. All the best to you!

I suffer terribly with arthritis in my hands but as soon as I stopped eating red meat it made a huge difference. I still eat fish and I can’t resist bacon (who can!) but I’m sure it is because I’m no longer eating the fats in the meat that has helped me.

Another advantage of a Mini HARRY O
format is that the recorded disc is not sequential. There is, however, one major disadvantage with the Mini HARRY O DVD format. The video here is encoded in MPEG-2 formats. This means that one needs specialized software that can edit MPEG-2 format.
However, if there is no great need for editing, a Mini HARRY O DVD COLLECTION would be the ideal format. It is believed be the format of the future.
