A few weeks ago the Boston Globe ran a story asking some notable Bostonians to envision their ideal summer day - my son Steve was one of the "notables" that they interviewed.

This is my perfect day

That inspired me to write about my ideal day - not necessarily a summer day but any time of the year.

8:30 a.m. Wake up - At my age, that's always a plus! Check e-mail - visit some blogging friends, check Steve's blog, twitter and flickr accounts. Have breakfast with Regis and Kelly. Read the newspaper - make a few phone calls.

11:00 a.m Do a few household chores. ( and I do mean a few!)

12:30 p.m. Have lunch with Meredith Viera, hostess for "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" - Yell out to the contestants when they don't know the answer.

1:00 p.m. Mah Jong at the club house - When I'm in Florida it's Mah Jongg at the pool! Win or lose, I still enjoy the game.

4:30 p.m. Nap Time.

6:00 p.m. Usually a local restaurant for dinner. Stop at the market for a few things.

8:00 p.m. Read the current Book Club novel or look for a good "On Demand" movie.

10:00 p.m. Check e-mail. Lights out.

What is your perfect day?

Yours sounds good, Millie. My perfect day would be up at 8am, check email, blogs and Facebook for at least an hour, eat breakfast, go out to the pool and clean off the deck, check flowers. Then take a shower and go out to lunch with a friend. An afternoon nap and dinner at 6pm, after which I blog some more and then watch TV or read until bedtime at 12-1.

Unfortunately, that leaves no time at all for house cleaning!!
Great idea! First, I love your comment about waking up. I am going to link to this on my blog.
Yep, pretty the same day except I would put in an hour of gardening and I also like to cook, so I would be doing some cooking.
I'm not sure I could qualify my normal day as a perfect one, but I agree that if I am able to wake up it has started out very well.

I don't have anyone to play games with and my usual day is a stay-at-home one. My wake up time is erratic - anywhere from 3 to 9am, but I am always in bed by 10:30 pm.
A good one..
as like always..
m..then me form India

be friends?
you cant understand my language.
but there is a little English over there
I guess my perfect day is a day with no doctors, no legal obligations (saying this because I went through a two and half months trial as a juror) and a day when I can go for a long walk with my camera, stop by a café to have something to eat and then meet a friend and go to the movies together.
Perfect day:
- waking up. great breakfast. time to be with myself. Time to get things done. Time to hang out with friends. Time to relax in the evening, and go to bed.
Love your perfect day - and still giggling about how it's good just to wake up at your age. WHen I was visiting my dad (who turned 87 this year) in March, one afternoon I asked what he wanted to do for the rest of the day and he said "survive!". My perfect day would be wake up, go for a wlk on the beach, then some yoga stretches and a fresh fruit salad (that I didnt have to make!) and excellent coffee for breakfast. I'd go out to a gallery or museum and meet up with a friend for a relaxed lunch, before spending the afternoon taking photos and heading back home to edit the photos, blog and check e-mail. If I had a choice, dinner would always be under the stars and candlelit, surrounded by laughter and friends. I'd fall asleep to the sound of rain on the roof (because in my perfect life, it only ever rains at night!!).
