The supermarkets have lots of apples available at this time of year, the weather is turning chilly, so it's time to turn the oven on and make a good old fashioned recipe for "Apple Crisp."

When I say "old" - what I mean is, over the years when I had company or was invited to someone's home, apple crisp was what I made.

It's a never fail recipe, looks good. and people just love it.

I've posted this recipe before but for those of you who might have missed it, here it is again!

Apple Crisp - Easter 2009

2 Tbsp. sugar
1 stick butter (or margarine)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c sugar
1 c. flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c chopped nuts

In a 9 x 13 inch pan (buttered), fill with peeled and cored apples until 3/4 full. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar over apples. Melt the 1 stick of butter or margarine and add rest of ingredients. Spoon over apple mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Good warm with ice cream. If there is any leftover, it even tastes good cold.

Enjoy!! :-)

Yummy! That looks delicious! I will definitely try this. Thanks for the recipe, Millie!
Millie, Thls recipe looks very good and it will give off a wonderful aroma! I'm going to try this it sounds delicious with or without the icecream.
Thank You
Guess I know what you'll be doing -- whipping up some apple crisp and checking out the Net for old episodes of Mad Men. I like recipes that call for brown sugar.
Millie, this looks divine and, with its few ingredients, maybe I can pull it off. Thanks!
Make an apple pie this weekend and you are right that this is the season for apple anything.
Wow! Looks delicious! Please check out my blog dedicated to seniors. I am thinking about adding a section for food. Would I be able to use some of your recipes? I'd give you credit and link back to your blog of coarse!! :)
Feel free to comment and critique!
I make something similar. It is so good. I think I will make a small (for one) apple spice cake this morning. Apples - with anything smells so good while it is cooking. Have a wonderful day!!
Millie,,,,,, just one question how many apples????

Lisa c

I'd say about 6-8 apples. If you like raisins, you could add 1/3 of a cup. When I do add raisins, I prefer the golden raisins.

Have fun coring the apples! That's what takes the most time!
Thanks for your sharing
power balance is good or you can power balance wholesale
I used to make Apple Crisp too. I looked at your ingredients and discovered that I have all of them here. I should head for the kitchen and make one. Will I do it? Don't hold your breath.

I can't believe I missed this post, Millie! That apple crisp looks fantastic and I bet it tastes the same!

Thanks for the visit and the lovely comments you left for my birthday. And mark my words, if you lived in my neighborhood, we'd go to Brio together!!
