TODAY I'M PLAYING CATCH-UP
Today I'm doing something very unusual, I'm staying home all day!

There are bills to pay, laundry to do, calls to make, a wonderful book to read (The Sacrifice of Tamar by Naomi Regan) AND am finally able to sit down and make a post.

My calender is so full - I work with a very large desk calender which has big squares but I find the squares are just not big enough so what I have to do is make an arrow and go into another square. I could try to write smaller but so far I have not been able to do that.

Some days I have to choose what activity or event I want to attend. For example I had an opportunity to see a show at my clubhouse by an entertainer that I was not familiar with or attend a free event held at the Spanish River library in Boca Raton.

THE LIBRARY

I heard that the library was "something to see" and the entertainer for the afternoon was Steve Leeds and Trio who were going to perform Sinatra numbers - well that made my mind up!

What a wonderful afternoon. Steve has a great voice, great personality and had the audience in the palm of his hands!!

Oh, and the library was really something special - looks more like a beautiful resort. Leave it to Boca to build something so special.

MOVIES

I'm pretty much up to date on the movies. Here are my thoughts on some of the recent movies I've seen, rated using the Florida Orange system.

In my opinion:

King's Speech 4 Florida Oranges
The Fighter 4 Florida Oranges
Mao's Last Dancer 3 1/2 Florida Oranges
Burlesque 2 Florida Oranges
The Tourist 2 Florida Oranges

COMMUNITY CENTER

The Center is new in the area and has a lot to offer (if you can get your foot in the door)

I was able to sign up for a few classes. This coming week I will be attending a "Yiddish Conversation Group" and a Movie Review and Discussion Group.

So you can see where I am coming from and why I am so happy to be home today - I need time to recharge my battery!

Comments:
It certainly seems like you need a little bit of R&R Take care My Lady!

Millie, I always think I am a busy person - until you post your activities!! But I am glad to know that you stay busy, instead of closeting yourself in your apt., like so many older people do.

I think I would like your life...for just a short time...then I would need lots of rest.

Sounds like you're having fun!!! Snow has been keeping me home.
I've noted your movies and will probably take a look at them.

Millie, I agree that The King's Speech deserved 4 Florida oranges. I saw it yesterday and loved it.

Thanks for the movie revue. I will add the top 3 to my NetFlix waiting list.

You are much more socially active than I am. I am envious. I think it's great that you have the wonderful opportunities to get out and keep going. Good for you.

I can't wait to see "The King's Speech" I hear it is in the contention for the Academy awards.

Busy Millie! I have looked with interest at your movie list, none of which are out in Paris yet. I am so looking forward to the King's speech

Millie-

I'm here with the residents of Duncaster reading your blog. It's great. Keep up the good work?

We have a question here, MIllie, do you get any income from this blog?

Best,
Miro &Tom

I wish that I could find events like that in my community.

To one and all

If you think I'm busy you should see the seniors down here. Many get up at the crack of down, exercise, go shopping, attend classes, play cards, make early morning doctor appointments, meet friends for lunch and run all kinds of errands.

My activities start in the afternoon,I do a lot but there are many people down here who beat me by a mile!

Two reasons we are all so active is - first - the weather is conducive to getting out and second - there are many interesting things to do, many at no cost.

Tom Rose

To answer your question - I do not get any income from my blog.

I do it because I get satisfaction from the process of making a post and the response I get from my readers.
